Possession and Access to Children

The Texas Family Code provides guidelines for the possession and access of children, along with a legislative presumption that both divorcing parents should be appointed joint managing conservators of the children. The current guidelines provide for an approximate 57/43 percent split in time between the primary and non-primary parent.
