Alimony & Spousal Support

Description

A court in a pending divorce may order temporary maintenance from one spouse to the other until a divorce is granted. Post-divorce maintenance may be awarded by a court within certain limits provided by the Texas Family Code. As an example, the maximum amount of alimony which may be ordered is $3,000.00 per month, for a period of three (3) years, unless there are extraordinary circumstances such as a party being unemployable or disabled.
