Evaluation of Business

Valuation of Stock Option

Stock options are sometimes held by the parties as a result of a spouse’s employment and the vested and unvested interest must be accurately evaluated in an effort to provide the non-employee spouse with an equitable share of the value of those options.

Pertaining to Divorce

Often spouses may own an interest in a commercial business. For purposes of the Court in making an equitable division of the estate, the parties present evidence in a hearing as to the value of the business and whether it can be divided or effectively one interest of the spouse transferred and sold to the other spouse.
